Last updated: October 22, 2026 · Covers novelbyte.net, Retro's Casino (casino.novelbyte.net) and our Minecraft modpack server (smp.novelbyte.net). Our Bedrock Realm is hosted by Microsoft under their own privacy policy.

Novelbyte is a small, independent project run by one person. We keep only what the games need to work, we never sell your data, and there are no ad trackers or analytics on our sites.

What we collect

• Your account: your username, your email address, and your password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way scrambled hash, so nobody (not even us) can read them.
• Your game data: everything you do in the games: money, companies, items, messages (RMail and chat), movies and pictures you make, and your settings.
• Your network address, scrambled: to spot one person running several accounts, Retro's Casino keeps a one-way scrambled fingerprint of the network you log in from. The address itself is not stored.
• Server logs: like every website, our web server and Cloudflare (our network and security provider) keep standard access logs, which include IP addresses. The Minecraft server logs your Minecraft name and connection details.
• Bug reports: if you send one, it can include screenshots and the game's log from your device, so we can fix the problem.
• On your device: we store your login and a few settings in your browser so you stay logged in. These are not ad cookies.

Who can see it

• Other players see what you choose to show in the game: your name, profile, and what you do in public.
• The admin and trusted staff can see game data, including messages, to fix bugs, handle reports and keep the game fair.
• Pictures you upload as your own wallpaper are only ever shown to you.
• We don't sell or share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Money

The games use play money only. We never ask for card details in the games. If you choose to donate or buy a priority spot in the join queue, the payment is handled by a payment provider, and we never see your full card details.

How long we keep it

Your data stays while your account exists. Backups are kept for about a week, then replaced with newer ones.

Deleting your account

In Retro's Casino, open SYS.CONFIG › 🔐 Security › 🗑️ Delete my account. Your email, profile, look, settings and home are removed straight away, your name is freed, and you are signed out everywhere. Your companies go to computer-run owners so other players' shares keep working, and messages you already sent stay in other players' inboxes. Copies in backups disappear within about a week.

Age

You must be 16 or older to play. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and mention it in the game's update notes.
