๐Ÿ“œ Terms & Rules

Last updated: October 22, 2026 ยท Covers novelbyte.net, Retro's Casino, our Minecraft modpack server and our Bedrock Realm.

By playing, you agree to these rules. They've been the rules since day one, written down here in full.

The rules

๐Ÿ› Found a bug that gave you money? Keep it, if you report it. If you got in-game money from a bug, you keep it as long as you tell a dev or report it with the in-game bug report. Reporting helps everyone. If a bug is used and kept quiet, staff may undo what it gave.
๐Ÿ” No real-life hacking. Never try to get into another player's real account, password or device. Hacking inside Retro's Casino (its ๐Ÿ’ป hacking feature) is part of the game and is fine. It's a game, not real life.
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Freedom of speech. Say what you want in the game. The only limits are the law: no real threats against real people, no sharing someone's real-life personal details (doxxing), and nothing illegal, including any sexual content involving minors.
๐Ÿ’ต No real money for game money. No real gambling. Everything in the games is play money with no real value. It can't be bought, sold or traded for real money, and neither can accounts or items. The casino is just a game: you can never win or lose real money.

Each server's own rules

On top of these, each game server can have its own rules: the Modpack server has no griefing, duping or cheating (see its page). The rules above (especially no real-life hacking, no real money and nothing illegal) apply everywhere.

How the games are paid for

Novelbyte runs on donations and the priority join queue. Both are optional, and neither gives you in-game money. There are no pop-up ads or real-world ads while you play: we want you to keep playing, and the games are not a cash grab. Donations are gifts and aren't refundable.

Your account

What you make

Movies, pictures, companies and anything else you make stay yours. By posting them in the games, you let us show them to other players and keep them in the game.

The small print

The games are a free hobby project, provided as they are. Things can break, change or be reset while we build. We'll keep backups and do our best, but we can't promise the games will always be online.
